TALLOW WHIP:

First, you will need to set up a double boiler. To set up a double boiler, you will need two pots: one larger pot and one smaller pot that fits inside the larger one without touching the bottom. The purpose of a double boiler is to gently heat or melt ingredients that are sensitive to direct heat. Here's how you can set up a double boiler: Choose the pots: Select a larger pot and a smaller pot. The larger pot should be deep enough to hold water without overflowing when the smaller pot is placed inside it. The smaller pot should fit snug inside the larger pot.Add water to the larger pot: Pour water into the larger pot, filling it about one-third full. Make sure not to fill it too high that it might overflow when the smaller pot is inserted. Place the smaller pot: Put the smaller pot inside the larger pot, ensuring that it rests securely on the rim of the larger pot and does not touch the bottom. The water in the larger pot should surround the sides of the smaller pot. Heat the double boiler: Turn the heat to low. The water in the larger pot will begin to heat up, creating indirect heat for the tallow in the smaller pot. Add Tallow content to the smaller pot: Place the tallow content into the smaller pot and allow it to slowly melt. Stir and monitor: Stir the tallow occasionally with a spatula or whisk to ensure even heating. Keep an eye on the water level in the larger pot, add more water if needed. Take Tallow off the boiler: Once tallow content is completely melted, pour into a separate bowl and allow it to sit on the counter until it hardens. Harden and Whip: After the tallow has harden, whip it with an electric hand mixer or kitchen aid mixer until your tallow looks like whipped cream. Peaks will begin to form as you whip giving you your desired whipped texture. These steps might seem time consuming, but it is actually a pretty fast process. The longest step is letting the tallow to harden back up.

TALLOW BALM:

Place your tallow balm into fridge and then allow it to soften on the counter.

As a general guide line, tallow balms and whips typically have a shelf life of 6 months to 2 years depending on how you take care of it. To ensure the best quality we recommend to store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Use clean hands and utensils when applying to help prevent contaminations and extend its shelf life. Most people LOVE their tallow balms and whips and use it well before 6 months.

We use Jojoba oil and/or hemp seed oil in all our products. It is a non-comedogenic oil, which means it is unlikely to clog pores or cause acne breakouts. Jojoba oil is similar in composition to the sebum, the natural oil produced by our skin, which gives it a unique property of being able to balance the skin's natural oil production. It is also a lightweight oil that is easily absorbed by the skin. In general, jojoba oil is considered safe for most skin types, including oily, combination, and acne-prone skin. We will never use any new oils that can cause clogged pores.
